Ricky Parker grew up in a military family, which meant always moving, and learning to constantly adapt to changes. This proved to become a strength for Parker in his musical career, creating a dynamic and fluid playing style. Initially starting on guitar, Parker made the switch to playing drums at age 13. Taking influence from Benny Greb and Dave Stanoch, Parker began to develop a unique playing style. After graduating from high school in Minnesota, he began formally studying music throughout college, with opportunities to write and record for several acts and artists. Having extensively performed in many different styles, including Blues, Country, Hard Rock, and Jazz, Parker brings musical influences and styles from all corners of the United States. In 2011 Parker joined Jason Jump on stage for the first time, this was just a stepping stone in their relationship. As years passed, Jason Jump reached out to Parker to starting working on a new project. Reunited with Jump, Parker was introduced to Jason Dove(Vocals and Bass), and the chemistry began to really develop between the trio. Events in 2020 sparked the birth of Virginia Sweet, allowing Parker to pull from all his influences, creating a truly All-American sound that everyone can groove to.
